We are currently seeking a Director, Biopharma Marketing to join our team!
The pay range for this role is $160,000.00 - $190,000.00 annually.
Placement within the range will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The final offer will reflect the successful candidate's background and demonstrated capabilities.

POSITION SUMMARY
- The Director, Biopharma Marketing leads marketing strategy and execution to drive portfolio growth and successful commercialization across Canada.
- The role reports to the Vice President, Biopharma, Canada and Partner Markets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial & Portfolio Leadership
- Deliver portfolio revenue growth and market share gains across Canada.
- Lead the development and management of annual portfolio strategy plans, brand plans, launch project plans, sales execution plans, and marketing tactical plans for the biopharma portfolio, providing direction and prioritization to Product Management and supporting cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and evaluate competitive products and marketplace dynamics, guiding strategic responses through brand and launch planning.
- Leverage market, customer, and stakeholder insights to develop segmentation frameworks, targeting, positioning, and strategic plans in partnership with Business Insights and Product Management.
People Leadership & Team Effectiveness
- Lead the marketing department including Product Management, Business Insights, Marketing Execution, Biopharma Operations, and Market Access teams.
- Set clear expectations, priorities, and success measures across the commercial execution team to ensure aligned delivery of portfolio and brand objectives.
- Coach managers on marketing fundamentals, product management best practices, analytical rigor, and commercial excellence.
- Build, develop, and sustain a high-performance, execution-focused team operating across multiple commercial disciplines within Canada.
Integrated Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
- Own the forecast process, scenario planning, and overall business performance management, leading this work through the Business Insights function and cross-functional partners.
- Lead the development and phasing of annual sales forecasts (FC) and long-range plans (MTS, Budget), ensuring alignment across brands, operations.
- Prepare product and production forecasts with a 3–5-year horizon in collaboration with Business Insights, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Evaluate marketing tactics and programs based on ROI and recommend high-impact investments, ensuring disciplined use of commercial resources.
Launch & Brand Execution Governance
- Own end-to-end launch planning and execution for the Canadian market, providing governance, decision-making, and escalation across Product Management, Operations, Medical, and Sales.
- Lead cross-functional launch readiness, surfacing risks, dependencies, and decision-ready issues to the Vice President.
- Guide the development and rollout of Plans of Action (POAs) to the sales team, ensuring clarity, adoption, and executional effectiveness.
- Interact with the field force to reinforce product strategy, priorities, and execution standards, supported by Performance Excellence and Product Management.
Business Insights & Analytics Leadership
- Lead Business Intelligence and analytics, ensuring delivery of high-quality, decision-oriented insights across forecasting, performance tracking, KPIs, and Canadian portfolio performance reporting.
- Use insights to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and required course corrections at portfolio and brand level.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and relevance across business performance reporting.
Biopharma Operations & Commercial Enablement Oversight
- Partner with and provide strategic leadership oversight to Biopharma Operations, including PSP programs, vendors, and operational processes, in support of Canadian commercial priorities.
- Work with the Head of Operations to ensure accurate demand planning and timely communication to global manufacturing and supply teams.
- Ensure operational execution supports brand strategy, patient needs, and commercial priorities while maintaining high standards of compliance and quality.
Market Access & Strategic Partnerships
- Provide strategic oversight of the Market Access function, ensuring market access strategy and execution are tightly aligned with overall brand, commercial, and 2026 business objectives.
- Ensure access priorities, deliverables, risks, and dependencies are clearly articulated through structured execution tools and proactively escalated as required.
- Drive strong cross-functional integration between Marketing, Access, Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure payer strategies are supported by compelling value narratives and executable commercial plans.
- Oversee rebate management governance, including rebate forecasting, validation, and invoice management, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with Product Listing Agreements (PLAs) and internal financial controls.
- Review and challenge access strategies, pCPA negotiation approaches, PLAs, and rebate mechanics from a broader portfolio, lifecycle, and risk-management perspective, ensuring disciplined execution and long-term sustainability.
External Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish collaborative working relationships with HCP Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to inform strategy, anticipate barriers, and support successful launches.
- Lead the development and execution of marketing advisory boards and HCP engagement events in collaboration with Medical and Sales.
- Establish and maintain strong external relationships with agencies, associations, and PAAB.
- Ability to be agile and respond to market, customer, and internal stakeholder needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in Science or Business; MBA an asset
- Minimum 6 years of pharmaceutical marketing or commercial experience, including portfolio and brand leadership
- Minimum 3 years of marketing leadership and people management experience
- Demonstrated experience leading product launches and managing portfolios in competitive or highly regulated markets
- Strong experience in forecasting, business planning, and commercial performance management
- Experience working cross-functionally in matrixed environments, including Medical, Market Access, Finance, Supply Chain, and Sales
- Willingness to travel up to 25% within Canada and for global meetings as required
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for local travel
